No matter where a person is driving in Canada, the law states that it is compulsory to be in possession of car insurance. This is mandatory in every province and territories and it states that each an every driver must procure an insurance cover with minimum coverage. If a driver is caught driving without an insurance policy he or she might face certain consequences like having the car impounded or towed down, have the license suspended or can be fined.
Auto insurance in Canada varies from a province to the other. The insurance companies in Canada assess all applications against different variables. When one is buying an auto insurance cover, the best strategy to consider is buying at a minimum and evaluating the need and available assets to buy additional covers.
Various places where one can buy auto insurances are, an insurance agent, a broker or from a direct writer. Licensed brokers are intermediaries between the insurance company and the buyer. These people deal with many companies and try to obtain the best insurance cover a person requires. Insurance brokers are very respectful of ones requirements they are independent and offer support and advice to their clients. Direct writers are companies that deal directly with their own clients while insurance agents are people who represent a certain insurance company.
A thorough research is very important before you decide on which company to buy the cover. You should analyze the available alternatives and shortlist those you think are genuine. Soon after, you can make a decision on which insurance company to contact. You also find that the quotes might differ depending on the type of car you drive. If you drive luxurious cars like sports cars, convertible vehicle or brand new cars, you find that they are at the risk of getting stolen. Therefore, insurance companies tend to offer higher quotes for such vehicles.
When looking for the best car insurance policy one can opt to visit the different companies or search the details online. For those who are unable to visit different Canadian insurance companies then searching online is the best option. This saves time and the hassle of visiting each company. Internet is one reliable source that can assist in comparing interest rates offered by different Canadian auto insurance companies.
As mentioned earlier quotes depend on the type of car one drives and the accessories, therefore, if the car has an air bag, a GPRS tracking device or a car alarm and an anti-theft system, this affects the insurance quotes. Insuring new cars is expensive compared to old cars thus there is no need of purchasing a new car if one does not really require one because it will add up to additional expenses.
Ones past driving record is another factor which determines the type of insurance cover to obtain. In Canada, a person who has a dreadful history of driving has higher chances of being charged more for the insurance policy compared to a person who has a clear record in driving.
Since it is mandatory for everyone driving in Canada to have car insurance, drivers should ensure that they possess one when driving because the charges of being caught without one are higher than the cost of purchasing an Toronto Auto Insurance Quotes cover.

A new report has been published that sheds some light on car crime in Dublin. It is reported that 15% of motorists in Dublin have been a victim of car crime in the last 2 years. This report comes from AA Ireland who commissioned a survey on their website. The results specifically show that there were a total of 6,500 replies. From this total 3.7% of the responders had their car stolen or an attempt was made to steal it. These are very worrying figures.
Car break in figures were also high with 6.5% of people reporting that their car was broken into or someone tried to break into it. Conor Faughan is a spokes person for AA Ireland, his comments on the results of the survey were that car crime is “clearly a major problem and one that is on the rise.” He added: “It means a big bill and, for those who do not have no-claims discount protection, a rise in insurance costs”.
New technological advances such as car immobilisers have helped us to fight back against car crime. For many years we were able to reduce the incidences of car crime. This trend however might start reversing if we are not careful. Car thieves are smart and they will find a way around your security systems.
The main tactic that car crime thieves utilise these days is to be more aware around a person’s house so as to try and steal the car keys if possible. This bypasses any deterrent technology that is placed in the cars. If you leave your car keys in the hall way then the thieves will try and ‘fish’ for them with a pole through the letterbox.
Hopefully being aware of this fishing technique will make you think twice about leaving your key in an unsecure place. This will greatly decrease the chance of you becoming just another car crime statistic.
With scary statistics like those above you need to ensure that your car is insured. AXA will provide cheap car insurance quotes and commercial van insurance quotes.

Turning the driving age is a proud time for just about every young person in America. Turning this age signals the beginning of a new freedom that has never been there. It signals the time of oncoming adulthood. For their families, it signals a dangerous time. This is a time where new freedom has combined with a fearlessness that can cause injury and even death. Young drivers in America, it is time for you to be more careful.
These drivers are a good source of worry for their parents. They should be. In the year 2007, there were over seven thousand drivers that were killed in car crashes for various reasons. That is an awfully large number of drivers. Those that were involved in these crashes were between fifteen and twenty years old. They were not even at the adult age of twenty one.
This is the leading cause of fatalities among young people. It is a big problem. Young people tend to think that they are invincible, and that bad things cannot happen to them. This is a terrible statistic. These drivers only represent about seven percent of drivers in this country.
Some facts you will want to know and pass on to your teen driver before they get out on the road include that this is the number one cause of death for people at this age. Just about one quarter million of these drivers on the road at this age are hurt in car wrecks. This is a staggering number.
If you look at the fatality rate, these young adult drivers are killed at twice the rate as everyone else that drives a car. This is a number that needs not to happen. These drivers need be educated in the total numbers in relation to the rest of the American population.
Most of the accidents that involve the young people in this country are due to excessive speeds they are driving at. And, to make matters worse, thirty percent of those include the use of alcohol end up being killed. That is a number no one can live with.
These young drivers feel that they are able to defy death and that injury is out of their reach. They are more wrong than they know. Parents need to educate their children on driving safety and the hazards of driving recklessly.
Get complete information and details about the steps to you can take to get the most affordable young drivers insurance easy and fast! When you are looking for car insurance, comparing quotes will help you to find the best coverage on a budget!

If you live in Canada and you drive then you are going to need some kind of auto insurance to ensure you are not breaking the law. It is a legal requirement but in each province there can be subtle changes as to what is required so care has to be taken to be sure you have everything that is required. So here are some tips on how to get the correct auto insurance in Canada.
First of all to explain about differences in the provinces you have to discover if every part of the insurance comes from a private company or if the government for the province is involved in one part. It does mean that without one part of it you are not fully covered.
An example is Quebec where the government takes charge of the insurance regarding damage to the public through injury whilst private companies handle the insurance regarding property. However, the government is only involved if the accident occurs within Quebec and the private company is responsible for insuring you for everything should you be outside the province.
With every part of Canada it is essential that you supply them with full and accurate details when getting your insurance. If they are not accurate then should you make a claim the policy can be declared null and void and you are no longer covered. Even when you are just getting quotes ensure they are accurate or the quote itself shall be wrong.
It is important to know that should you loan your car to someone and they are involved in an incident it is still your insurance that is at risk. In essence your insurance is for that car and if you transfer the use of the car even for a single journey you are actually transferring your insurance with it. If they have an accident then it is your policy which is going to change.
So when you are looking at getting your insurance it is important that you look around the private companies that operate within your province. This is much better as they know the full details of what is required and there can also be government advice on limiting what can be charged for the average rate premium. You can easily search on a per province basis to get quotes from companies at the one time.
Often the insurance you pay can increase or decrease according to certain factors. The longer you go without a claim the cheaper it can get up to a certain point. You may also look at getting a special accident policy included which means if you have been driving for a few years without incident then you have a small bump it does not have to affect your premiums. Clearly if you claim on a regular basis your premiums are going to increase. In Alberta this is known as the Grid Step system.
So when you are getting your Toronto auto insurance be aware of the legal requirements for your province before proceeding. It means you shall not be caught out and discover your policy is not valid when you need it most. Always be aware of giving the correct details and also shop around for better quotes if possible.

It is not very often that we get to right an article that brings together the world of motoring and the supernatural. Today is that day. It has been reported in a local paper recently that a local resident contacted the local council to query whether ghosts had moved her car. This is clearly a case for Mrs.Marple.
If you are living in Sutton in South London then you might want to keep an eye out for ghosts walking the streets at night. Sutton is apparently ‘….coming like a ghost town’. Sutton is where the lady who made the phone call lives. The reason for the strange phone call is that the woman had parked her car in the car park and was stunned to find out later that the car had moved of its own accord.
Instead of contacting the ghost busters the police decided to check out the local CCTV to see if they could shed some light on the situation. Unsurprisingly, the car was found to have moved by itself. The handbrake was not on and that caused the car to roll back into another car parking space behind it. There was no supernatural interference just super stupidity at work. Are there car insurance companies out there that provide ghost cover on their insurance policies?
Back on home soil in Ireland there was positive news from the car sales industry. Figures for new car sales have been increasing by 47% between January and July when compared to the same period last year. The Society of the Irish Motor Industry report that over 70,000 cars were sold in this period. This compares to a figure of just 57,000 for the previous year. Out of all the cars that were sold the best performing model was the Ford Focus. Diesel cars were the other big winners on the Irish market, probably because of lower tax dues.
The report by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) also highlighted the car scrappage scheme as being a primary cause of the increase. It seems like the government can actually do something right after all. It is estimated that over 8,500 car sales could be attributed to this new piece of legislation. It is possible to save 1500 on this scheme and this has helped to revitalise the ailing motoring sector. Combine this with great insurance deals at AXA and the cost of motoring can be seen to be coming down.

Traffic jams are one of the most frustrating things to be involved in. Anger rises and stress builds as you crawl along at snail pace. After a half an hour you have barely moved a few metres up the road and walkers are passing you out. If you have ever been to a rock concert then you know the frustration well. There is huge temptation to abandon the car completely, but next time you are stuck in an Irish traffic jam, spare a thought for drivers in China who were recently subjected to agony of a 120km tailback. This is the traffic jam to end all traffic jams. You can only imagine the level of anger and despair in the country over this.
The 120km traffic jam has te great honour of being one of the largest traffic jams on record. This is not a world record you would want to be involved in. If you can’t handle your half an hour tailback on the M50 then how are you going to manage a traffic jam that managed to last a staggering 9 full days. Yes you read it correctly, 9 whole days. We are not talking about seconds, minutes, or even hours – 9 whole days of misery. There are only a certain amount of times you can play travel scrabble before getting bored!
A traffic jam was cleared in the week previous to the 120km tailback. A large queue had just been cleared by the authorities in China, when a much bigger and better traffic jam formed shortly after.
This time the jam is a jaw-dropping 120 kilometres long and is running along a motorway from the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia (who knew there was an ‘inner’ version of ‘outer Mongolia’!) towards Beijing and the province of Hebei. Most of those stuck in what must seem like a special kind of hell are drivers of coal trucks – more than 10,000 in total – who are now sitting in the equivalent of an enormous car park.
In Ireland, we don’t quite have traffic jams of that size or magnitude. The M50 quite often resembles a giant car park, especially when the upgrade activity was ongoing. Now that the upgrade is finished, Dublin drivers are experiencing improved driving conditions. We can only hope and pray that the problems experienced in China never happen in Ireland. The last thing I need is a traffic jam from Roscrea to Dublin!
Bumper to bumper traffic jams can be a serious pain. What is not a pain is AXA’s cheap online car insurance . Check out our excellent insurance for young drivers now.

Getting angry in the car can get you into trouble. Almost 800 people lost their lives in the UK last year due to road rage or disrespectful driving. This was confirmed in a report undertaken by AXA insurance in the UK. This is an alarming figure. AXA calculate that almost a billion worth of insurance premium could be save if people learned to hold their temper on the road and show some respect for their fellow drivers.
This report also highlighted other important driving stats. For example, almost four out of ten drivers involved in accidents this year have reported that in the vital moments before the crash, they have been scared or angered by other road users. Out of this 40% figure, more than half report that inconsiderate driving involved speeding; a quarter of people said it was driving erratically and one fifth said that the offending driver was ignoring the rules of the road.
A motoring psychologist called Peter Marsh had the following comments to make “The AXA study highlights clearly the powerful psychological forces at work when we get behind the wheel of a car”. He also adds: “Our cars may be safer than before and our roads increasingly designed to reduce accidents but unless we recognise and deal with the strong emotional aspects of motoring, the factors that give rise to uncharacteristic belligerence and sheer bloody-mindedness, we may never be able to reduce much further the number of people who die unnecessarily on Britain’s highways.”
An interesting point made by AXA UK is that it calculates that around 35 per premium pays for accidents caused by disrespectful driving, and as well as these costs, the British motorist is also paying an estimated 30 per premium for uninsured drivers. AXA Ireland would like to hear from you. Do you think Irish motorists get more frustrated than our UK counterparts? Are the Irish more liable to a bit of road rage?
To encourage good behaviour on the roads insurance companies must give incentives to good drivers. Drivers who stay calm and drive well will be awarded with up to a 75% No Claims Discount on car insurance with AXA insurance.
A car accident can occur at any time. Make sure that you are fully covered with AXA insurance. We have many competitive policies including young drivers insurance and van insurance

After the bubble burst in the Irish economy and after a succession of harsh budgets people have been forced into adjusting their sometimes lavish lifestyles. We have all had to cut back a little. Actually, there are still a number of people who refuse to quit their lavish way of life and will turn to crime to supplement their living. Insurance fraud is an area they tend to get caught up in. People see the rich bankers being let off the hook with golden parachute deals after messing up the country and they want their slice of the cake.
When you think of fraud you would think that it is done to combat poverty. People who earn little are trying to con money to make a living. The reality is often quite the opposite. Pride can be just as bad a cause of fraud. People cannot stand the drop in their standard of living and they want to maintain their reputations among the neighbours. They have lived lifestyles that they cannot now afford. Instead of accepting their new circumstances they turn to fraud to supplement their old lavish lifestyles.
The Irish Insurance Federation is a representative body for insurance companies. They have identified the growing trend of insurance fraud and are battling hard to stop it. Michael Horan from the IIF states “there is definitely an increase in claims in the recession”. Internal statistics show that the number of tip-offs to insurance fraud claims via a confidential phone line have increased by over 50% in the year 2009 when compared to 2008. These figures clearly highlight that there is something wrong. Numbers do not surge like this without a reason. The reason in this case is the recession. If the recession deepens then the insurance fraud levels are also likely to increase.
The insurance industry really began to focus on fraud prevention and detection about ten years ago. One of the main ways insurers work together in this respect is through Insurance Link, a database used to identify repeat claimants. Nick Starling of the ABI says ‘Whether claiming against a third party for bogus personal injury or on their own insurance, fraudsters are more likely than ever to get caught, leading to more expensive and harder-to-obtain insurance and credit and the possibility of a criminal record’.
The chances of you and your family falling into financial difficulty has multiplied over the last few years. With tougher budgets to come things are likely to get worse. To many, insurance fraud will be the only solution to maintaining a lavish lifestyle. The insurance companies are aware of this situation and are battling back. Insurance fraud hurts everyone and insurance companies do not want these levels rising.
AXA take insurance fraud seriously and pass on the benefits to our customers. Axa car insurance Ireland provide competitive car insurance quotes and van insurance quotes.

You are another year older and another grey hair on the head. It is not all bad news though as some things get better with age. Take for example your car insurance. If you are over 22 and have a full license then you are probably much better off now with AXA insurance. Chances are that you now have a ‘Drivers of Other Cars’ policy extension included.
The majority of AXA’s many customers are covered while driving other people’s cars. Providing you are either over 25 with a provisional or full license or over 22 with a full license then you are probably covered. The type of cover that you have is 3rd party cover, but you must have permission from the owner of the car to drive their car first. This is without being a named driver on the owner’s insurance policy.
The ‘Driving of Other Cars’ extension is a valuable thing to have. Just imagine yourself in the following situation: You and 2 friends have decided to drive to the coast this weekend for some surfing. Instead of taking 3 cars your friend offers to drive everyone down. The weekend is might craic but your friend had 1 or 5 drinks too many and is now over the limit and too sick to drive anyway. What do you do now? If you have AXA’s ‘Driving of Other Cars’ extension then you are cobered to jump into the driver’s seat and drive everyone home safe in the knowledge that you are covered by third party insurance.
There are some pre-conditions to getting this cover. You can only access this cover if you are not the car owner and have not hired it under a hire purchase agreement. If you look at your insurance certificate you can easily see whether you are covered or not by checking out section 5(b).
Whilst the cover offered to you by the “Driving of Other Cars” policy extension is a coveted thing to possess, it does not cover every vehicle. This extension applies to private passenger vehicles only. This excludes vehicles such as vans, car-vans, jeep type vehicles with no backseats, and vans that are adapted to carrying passengers. So be aware of this in the future.
Did you know that if you are an AXA customer with 3 years fully comprehensive car insurance then you will get your Customers that have been with AXA for 3 or more years with comprehensive insurance will be upgraded. The 3rd party “Driving of Other Cars” extension will now be transformed into comprehensive “Driving of Other Cars” cover for free. So if you are driving your friend’s car home after your holidays you will now be covered if you happen to damage his car.
Take advantage of your increasing grey hairs with AXA car insurance Ireland. Purchase cheap car insurance today.

Many of us have been there before, acknowledging it is time to get a new insurance company, or perhaps we must insure our new vehicle or house. In the days prior to the internet, we had the daunting task of getting insurance quotes by getting in touch with insurance agents either by way of telephone or in person. Many people recall days when you needed to call insurance broker after insurance broker attempting to find that best practical insurance quote, which had the most ideal coverage. So many hours spent on the telephone speaking to different insurance brokers, and with each and every call to a new agent had to go over and give exactly the same information and answer the identical questions each time.
Of course it is safe to convey this procedure would take a lot of ones most valuable time, time many of us just didn’t have then, as we don’t right now, with our busy hectic lives. Along comes the Internet and online insurance agents. Wow, this has become a wonderful time saver and even more so money saver. Sometimes the insurance company may need further information such as age, driving record, and vehicle type (if looking for an auto insurance quote). The prices will vary from company to company.
